Kumi Construction Management Corporation is seeking a full time Construction Cost Estimator to assist in the preparation of cost estimates for the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This position will report directly to the Chief Estimator.
Responsibilities
- Perform quantity take-offs from plans using PlanSwift software
- Prepare cost estimates at all design submission levels
- Communicate with client regarding project document clarifications
- Request for price quotes from manufacturers, suppliers and other vendors
- Create conceptual and detailed cost estimates
- Follow-up on bid status
- Other duties and requirements as directed by supervisor
Qualifications
- Strong mathematical, computer, organization and communication skills
- Undergraduate degree in construction, engineering, quantity surveying or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the employ of a construction consulting firm or a construction contractor
- Experience using electronic quantity take-off software
- Experience using Microsoft Office products and estimating software
- Attention to detail
